On hot days over summer and early autumn head to the safe sheltered bays near the boat ramp at Windy Harbour for a cooling dip in the Southern Ocean. If you decide to swim at any other beaches please be aware of rips, help will not reach remote locations for a long time if needed. Join the locals at popular freshwater swimming spots along the Heartbreak Trail in Warren National Park, at Big Brook Dam, Lake Beedelup or Pemberton Swimming Pool in Pemberton or Karri Lake at Quinninup. Please enter the water carefully and avoid diving into the water.
When conditions are right, surfers head to Salmon Beach or Black Pt (4WD access only) to surf the breaks. Please be aware these are remote locations and if you get into trouble assistance will take a long time to reach you.
