Fishing

Fishing at Salmon Beach
Salmon fishing is a popular pastime along the beaches in autumn in D'Entrecasteaux National Park. Schools of WA Salmon migrate along the southern coastline from and to the Great Australian Bight for breeding each autumn.

Experience the south coast’s autumn salmon run.

Australian Salmon

Don’t forget the fishing rods when visiting our region. Visit in autumn when schools of Australian Salmon are on their migratory spawning run along the south coast for sport fishing at its best. Safe sheltered rock fishing is available in the channel near the Windy Harbour boat ramp or bring your surf rods to fish along miles of deserted beaches in D’Entrecasteaux National Park. 2WD access can be found at Windy Harbour, Cathedral Beach, Salmon Beach and Mandalay Beach, all other beaches require 4WD access. https://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/park/dentrecasteaux

Trout

Trout have been stocked in the waterways around Pemberton for decades now, wander along the streams and rivers with your rod or try your hand at fly fishing. Please note Freshwater Angling Licenses are required.
