Bringing your boat, canoe or kayak on holidays? Launch your canoes or kayaks into the Warren or Donnelly Rivers when we have winter or spring peak flow to explore these picturesque rivers. Canoe launching ramps can be found at the Donnelly Boat Landing and along the Heartbreak Trail in Warren National Park. Big Brook Dam in Pemberton and Broke Inlet east of Northcliffe are beautiful year-round inland waterways perfect for paddling.
For 4WDer’s, our rivers bar up over summer and early autumn providing an opportunity to paddle the lagoons upstream from our beaches.
Powered boats can be launched at Windy Harbour (always check the weather forecast first, and register with the Windy Harbour Sea Rescue), Donnelly Boat Landing to explore the 12km of river to the mouth, at Walpole or at Broke Inlet.
